Infectious Diseases Specialist – Royal Columbian Hospital

Fraser Health Division of Infectious Diseases

The RCH Infectious Diseases group is looking for a 0.5-1.0 FTE Infectious Diseases Specialist to join our group. We provide inpatient consultant coverage at Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) and Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH) on a rotating basis. The RCH coverage includes coverage of OPAT/Home IV and inpatient consultant coverage Monday to Friday. The ERH rotation includes Rapid Access clinic coverage three times a week which includes OPAT coverage and inpatient consults. Royal Columbian Hospital is a full capacity teaching hospital and therefore participation in educational activities/resident teaching will be required. There is also the opportunity for rotation on Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU) (General Medicine) if interested. The candidate will also be expected to join the Fraser Health Infectious Diseases Call Group which offers phone consultation service 24 hours/day, 7 days a week. The candidate is also expected to participate in Anti-Microbial Stewardship adjudication and feedback when on service along with the AMS pharmacist;

This position offers the opportunity to practice in all areas of General Infectious Diseases. An outpatient practice is highly recommended.

The position has a flexible start date; Compensation is fee for service; Sessional payment for AMS activities and MOCAP payment for on call coverage.

The candidate must have passed the Royal College of Canada examinations in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases and be in good standing with their respective College of Physicians and Surgeons. Additional training in a specialty of Infectious Diseases is not required but would be an asset.
