Position Summary
Medical Lab Technologist opportunity is now available at the 100 Mile District General Hospital! The days of work are rotating and shift times include day shifts, evening shifts and overnight on-call. The evening shifts also require overnight on-call from 23:30-07:30 or 00:00 to 06:30. Effective April 1, 2024 pay rate will be $36.69 - $45.70

About the job:

MLTs work in a supportive, team-based environment and perform a variety of duties within the assigned discipline department. Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing routine and/or complex tests, utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments
• Entering data into the Lab Information System (LIS), related systems and programs
• Validating and reporting test results
• Maintaining instruments, preparing solutions and control agents
• Contributing to training, evaluation and improvement programs

About this location:

100 Mile House is a historic town with a vibrant and close knit community in the heart of the Cariboo. It is located approximately 5 hours north of Vancouver and only 2 hours from Kamloops by car. The local area boasts over 200km of cross country ski trails, Mount Timothy downhill ski area, hockey arena, championship golf, numerous hiking/biking trails and hundreds of lakes.

Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
• One (1) year recent related experience preferred
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
