About the job:

MLTs work in a supportive, team-based environment and perform a variety of duties within the assigned discipline department. Days of work are rotating and shift times include day, evening and night shifts. Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing routine and/or complex tests, utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments
• Entering data into the Lab Information System (LIS), related systems and programs
• Validating and reporting test results
• Maintaining instruments, preparing solutions and control agents
• Contributing to training, evaluation and improvement programs

About this location

Cariboo Memorial Hospital (CMH) located in Williams Lake, B.C. is a Level 2, 31 bed community hospital serving Williams Lake and surrounding communities. CMH emergency department operates 24/7 handling over 21,000 visits per year, in addition to offering a range of acute care specialties and allied health services.

Community Profile: As the largest and fastest growing city in the area, Williams Lake serves as a business, industrial, and service hub for many outlying communities. Outdoor recreation enthusiasts are drawn to the area’s natural amenities. World-class mountain bike trails, miles of hiking and skiing terrain, and hundreds of lakes for kayaking, rafting, boating, fishing, and camping. Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
• One (1) year recent related experience.
