Role and Facility Information
Have it all!
The Shuswap North Okanagan Division of Family Practice is partnered with the Ministry of Health, Interior Health Authority, to create a Primary Care Network to address the health care needs of our community.
Nurse Practitioner positions are available in the Shuswap North Okanagan (SNO) Division. These positions include both full-time and part-time positions. Our Primary Care Network provides multiple opportunities available for areas of practice – from collaborative models with existing practitioners to autonomous, independent practice to working with First Nations communities. You, the NP, decide what opportunity you want to practice.
Lifestyle options are equally diverse – urban, rural, a bit of both – work in one, live in the other. The Shuswap North Okanagan area is a sought-after location. Quite a few people discover its charms while recreating and soon seek opportunities to make it home.
The Shuswap North Okanagan way of life spans the spectrum of outdoor adventures like cycling, mountain biking, boating, cross country skiing, down hill skiing, sledding, fishing, hunting, hiking, paddle boarding, kayaking, the list goes on. In fact, Silver Star Mountain was voted BC’s best family ski mountain and Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre is amongst the top three cross-country ski facilities in North America – our national cross country ski team trains here.
For more urban adventures, Vernon punches above its weight. The variety of community services, local arts and entertainment, micro-breweries, cideries, close proximity to a vast array of wineries and diverse opportunities to satisfy your palette. All of this just over 30 minutes from the Kelowna International Airport – your gateway to the world - without the busyness or complexity of larger urban centres. You really can have it all.
Career changes and potential moves are a big decision. We want to ensure you are satisfied with both. What’s in it for us? We believe your career and location satisfaction sets you up to positively contribute to our Primary Care Network. Healthy practitioners lead to healthy patients which build healthy communities. Who doesn’t want to be a part of that?
Please reach out and let’s start the discussion. We look forward to hearing from you.
