The newly opening Penticton Urgent and Primary Care Centre is looking for a Nurse Practitioner Lead to support this exciting new centre. The Nurse Practitioner Lead would be responsible for supporting the Centre in areas of Quality, Nurse Practitioner Resource Planning and Compensation, Supervision and Performance, and Education. Some specific responsibilities include promoting a quality culture by developing professional standards, protocols and policies for appropriate medical care.

With an emphasis on Team Based Care, the lead will be the liaison between the Nurse Practitioners, the Health Authority and the care providers in the UPCC and represent the group of NPs in matters related to clinical care and quality. You would also assist Nurse Practitioner Recruitment for the UPCC and represent the clinic in communication with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals and other stakeholders.

The UPCC group will be fully responsible for their own scheduling, the Nurse Practitioner Lead will be expected to oversee the scheduling of Nurse Practitioners. Supervision and Performance responsibilities include coordinating and attending regular UPCC Nurse Practitioner meetings with the site Manager and providing the Nurse Practitioner's perspective including but not limited to, clinic operational meetings, team development sessions, clinical educational opportunities, etc. NPs will be part of this team, including an NP lead, while this role will provide additional support in the way of providing advice and assisting in performance evaluations when necessary. You will also promote and advocate for effective educational policies, goals and objectives and CME activities that contribute to the enhancement of Nurse Practitioners’ and NP skills in Primary Care. It will be an asset for candidates to have experience with Team-based care.

Qualifications:

• During the Term, the NP Lead is and shall remain a registered member in good standing of the British Columbia College of Nursing and Midwives and conduct his/her practice consistent with the conditions of such registration.

Schedule:

• The NP Lead will provide services of up to 3.5 hours per week up to a total of 161 hours per year based on the assumption of a minimum of 46 working weeks per year.
