Other relevant information: In British Columbia, women are experiencing serious inequities that are impacting their physical, mental, and emotional well-being (BC Women’s Health Foundation, 2019). At CAYA Health Centre, they hope to fill this gap by offering services from medical doctors, nurse practitioners, psychologists, clinical counsellors, dietitians, physiotherapists, and massage therapists all in one place. They believe that this collaborative approach to healthcare will help improve the overall health outcomes of their patients, clients, and community. Their goal is to provide longitudinal primary care and episodic care to historically marginalized populations, including women, trans, and non-binary individuals. Their medical team will provide culturally competent and trauma-informed care, and be able to easily refer to other allied health practitioners as needed. They are extremely clinician-focused, and want their practitioners to have the tools and resources to succeed at their practice. They will provide monthly or quarterly training to their clinicians such as trauma-informed care, gender-affirming care, and more. Their vision is to have a collaborative approach to healthcare, and communication is of the utmost importance.
