Are you an experienced physician leader looking for a high-impact role in healthcare? Interior Health is seeking a Medical Director for its Emergency Services Network, a key position that will shape the future of emergency care delivery across our health authority. As the Medical Director, you will be responsible for administrative and clinical leadership for Emergency Department services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, equitable care that is patient-centered, compassionate, and efficient. This role provides a unique opportunity to lead an integrated team and contribute to the standardization and innovation of emergency services across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
•Co-Lead with Emergency Services Network Director: Provide strategic direction and medical leadership to achieve performance excellence in Emergency Department services across the Interior Health region.
•Systems Integration: Work closely with leadership and medical teams to integrate and standardize emergency services for improved patient outcomes and service delivery.
•Leadership with Compassion: Emphasize inclusive, compassionate leadership, fostering collaboration and open communication across all levels, from physicians to administration.
•Engage in Provincial and IH Committees: Represent the medical perspective at provincial and regional meetings, including Emergency Care BC, and other committees as needed.
•Travel Across Region: Conduct site visits to Emergency Departments (minimum each site every 2 years) to ensure ongoing excellence in care delivery.
•Clinical Oversight: Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of clinical best practices and patient safety initiatives.

Hours:
•FTE: 0.50
•7.5 hours per day, 2.5 days per week, 46 weeks/year
•Start date: March 1, 2025

Compensation:
•Payment Structure: Service Contract
•Estimated Gross Income: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:
•FRCPC, EM training (Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, Emergency Medicine) or CCFP, EM (Canadian College of Family Practice, Emergency Medicine)
•Medical leadership training and/or experience
•Doctorate in Medicine
•Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC)
•Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is mandatory.
