Role and Facility Information
Greenwood Medical Clinic & Boundary Hospital in Grand Forks is looking to create an exciting and fulfilling practice for a rural family physician. Join a shared practice with two other young physicians in a well-run low-overhead clinic with Primary Care Network staff, including Social Worker and a Registered Nurse. Practice is flexible in terms of office vs ER work. It could accommodate 1-3 weekdays in-office (incl. virtual consults) and 3-6 monthly 24h (or 12h equivalent) ER shifts at the Boundary District Hospital, in addition to in-patient and long-term care work. The current Greenwood Clinic physicians are looking for a partner for cross-coverage / vacation coverage of office and hospital work, so you will never need to look for a locum again! High-income practice with rural stipends, flexible payment model (FFS, new payment model, New to Practice contract).
Physicians working in Greenwood can live in the Boundary / West Boundary, with many homes and acreages for sale from Christina Lake to Rock Creek, with the largest centre being Grand Forks.
Join the discussion for a community health centre in the West Boundary and learn more about early-stage involvement opportunities in this exciting project.
Primary Care Network Opportunity
Kootenay Boundary (KB) is an early adopter of the Primary Care Network (PCN) approach, with teams of FPs, NPs, RNs, Allied Health, Aboriginal Health Coordinators and other clinical staff working together to increase patient attachment and improve patient care, access, and cultural safety in clinics across the region. To date, 30+ PCN staff have already been hired into the PCN and provide about 5,000 patient encounters per quarter, and more hires are underway. The KB PCN is based on a co-location model, building teams within existing primary care clinics. A learning culture approach, fostered through the KB PCN Learning Lab, links all PCN partners and encourages innovation, collective learning and the spreading of successes.
