Role and Facility Information

Foundry Sea to Sky is seeking several part-time family physicians, with enthusiasm for and experience working with adolescents and young adults, to provide team-based primary care in a purpose-built, supportive, multi-disciplinary youth hub located in Squamish, BC.

Foundry is removing barriers and increasing access to health and wellness services for young people ages 12–24 and their caregivers through a network of innovative youth-friendly centres across British Columbia and online. By offering integrated mental health care, substance use services, primary and sexual health care, youth and family peer support and social services, Foundry makes it easier for young people to find support in their communities. Online resources and first-of-its-kind virtual care further broaden Foundry's reach.

Sea to Sky Community Services (SSCS) is the lead agency for Foundry Sea to Sky (FSTS), integrating health care into a community-based social service setting. This approach allows us to be flexible and creative in our ability to meet multiple needs of youth in one location. Vancouver Coastal Health’s Youth Mental Health and Substance Use Team is fully integrated into the FSTS model and includes Concurrent Disorder Clinicians, Hospital Liaison Workers, and a Case Coordinator Nurse. FSTS’s wrap-around service model also includes Youth Outreach Workers and Peer Support Workers employed by SSCS, as well as an integrated youth drop-in providing social and recreational programming.

Under the oversight of the FSTS Medical Director, the family physician provides episodic, enhanced/specialized, and longitudinal care (up until age 25) within the interdisciplinary team, through a combination of walk-in and scheduled appointments. Physicians are actively involved in case consultation with the FSTS team and have the support of Medical Office Assistants in the Centre.

We are currently recruiting multiple family physicians with 0.2FTE and up to 0.5FTE positions available.
