π₯ Pemberton Health Centre - A Hub of Emergency, Urgent, and Primary Care: Embedded in a center that provides comprehensive emergency, urgent, and primary care, this position allows you to work alongside physicians, nurses, and allied staff. Utilizing the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS), you will triage, manage, and treat patients across all age groups, contributing significantly to the health and well-being of the community.
Your Key Responsibilities:
β’ π©Ί Primary Care Leadership: Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnosing diseases, disorders, and conditions, ensuring holistic patient care and coordination.
β’ π Initiate Treatment & Management: Lead in healthcare management, treatment initiation, and medication prescribing in line with regulatory standards.
β’ π₯ Professional Guidance & Teamwork: Offer expert guidance and work autonomously within interdisciplinary health teams.
β’ π€ Strategic Collaboration: Contribute to health strategy development, policy-making, and quality improvement initiatives.
β’ π Professional Development & Quality Assurance: Engage in ongoing professional growth, maintain competence, and ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Education & Experience
β’ Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
β’ Four (4) years of recent, and relevant clinical nursing experience.
β’ Successful completion of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) required.
Knowledge & Abilities
β’ Ability to perform the full scope of NP duties and responsibilities.
β’ Applies for and maintains core and non-core privileges, as required by the program, as active medical staff within the VCH Regional Department of Nurse Practitioners and cross-appointments as described in the VCH Medical Staff Rules and Medical Bylaws.
β’ Ability to apply knowledge of developmental stages, behavioral sciences, pathophysiology, psychopathology, epidemiology, and evidence-based practice to clinical diagnosis and patient management.
β’ Ability to apply knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics to prescribing and evaluating treatment responses.
β’ Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients and families about health findings, diagnosis, treatment, self care and prognosis.
β’ Ability to collaborate, consult with and formally refer clients and patients to physicians and other health professionals when appropriate.
β’ Ability to critically assess and evaluate health research literature to determine best practices; ability to introduce education and evidence-based research.
β’ Ability to assess and recognize population health trends; ability to plan and implement strategies for population based prevention and health promotion.
β’ Ability to implement and evaluate planned change.
β’ Ability to define the specific areas of practice and client population for whom the position is competent to provide health care services.
β’ Ability to apply lead leadership skills within a program and team setting.
β’ Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
