This opportunity is to provide neonatal on-call coverage in beautiful Powell River. There is also an opportunity to coverage the physician’s regular family practice clinic.
We are seeking a general practitioner with particular interest and skill set in neonatal care. This urgent locum coverage has the opportunity to transition to a permanent position.
Powell River Hospital is developing a new and exciting full service perinatal program with the local support and collaboration of our obstetrician/gynecologist, family doctors, midwifery, nursing, and lactation consultation. Come be a part of this important, exciting work which is integral to optimizing and retaining rural perinatal services!
Although the expectation would be neonatal call, there is also the option to cover general family practice/hospitalist work.

Compensation
Combination – service contract (neonatal call) and Fee for service/LFP for clinic work also.
This locum opportunity qualifies for up to $1,000 of travel and/or accommodation reimbursement.

• $2,200 (FPs) or $3,000 (SPs) annually in 3rd/4th year (issued quarterly)
• $4,400 (FPs) or $6,000 (SPs) annually in 5th+ years (issued quarterly)
Recruitment Incentive Fund (RIF)
• $10,000 for physicians filling open Physicians Supply Plan positions in qathet (prorated for <1.0 FTE)
Recruitment Contingency Fund (RCF)
• Assists with moving expenses based on area relocating from: $9,000 (within BC) $12,000 (within Canada) $15,000 (outside of Canada
