The Central Okanagan Maternity Clinic (COMC) in Kelowna, BC is seeking locum Family Physicians with Obstetrical experience to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team. About the Clinic
The Central Okanagan Maternity Clinic (COMC) is a unique and rewarding care environment dedicated to supporting unattached pregnant patients across the Central Okanagan. COMC plays an essential role in enhancing access to safe, culturally appropriate care—especially for individuals who may face challenges navigating traditional healthcare pathways.
This is an opportunity to practice trauma-informed, patient-centered medicine in a supportive and collaborative team environment. COMC is staffed by Family Physicians, Registered Midwives, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, and Medical Office Assistants. The clinic operates in close coordination with:
• Non-stress testing (NST)
• Ultrasound services
• Labour & Delivery (L&D)
• Perinatal care teams
• 24/7 Obstetric and Pediatric support, including a Level 4 NICU
• A consultative group of 9 local Obstetricians

Scope of Work
• Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care (up to 8 weeks postpartum)
• Deliver culturally safe and respectful care, particularly to local Indigenous communities
• Participate in 24/7 intrapartum call coverage, in collaboration with other maternity providers in the community
• Work within a supportive, multidisciplinary team focused on access, equity, and compassionate care
• Collaborate with providers and specialists to ensure smooth transitions for patients requiring advanced levels of care
Schedule & Commitments
• Clinic shifts: 1–2 half-day clinics per week (9:00–12:00 or 13:00–16:00)
• Call shifts: Minimum 1–2 24-hour call shifts per month
• Flexible start dates and durations
• Travel and accommodation incentives available
Requirements
• Full license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC)
• Certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP) – mandatory
• Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – mandatory
• Demonstrated obstetrical experience – mandatory
