Snow-capped mountains dominate the skyline. City sidewalks lead to sandy beaches. It's no wonder this area is ranked as one of the best places to live in the world. BC's largest city, Vancouver, was the host of the 2010 Olympic Games and is home to the province's major medical and research centres as well as several universities. Just north of the city are picturesque fishing villages along the Sunshine Coast, and Whistler, the number one ski resort in North America. The region is served by the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority and Providence Health Care.
